Mom's Birthday

Happy Birthday to mom....cake brought to you by Dad & Maura

Princess Heaven

Dreams do come true in Disneyworld (as much as I hate to admit it)
One by one, she rubbed elbows with the best Disneyworld has to offer....

She told Cinderella what she had for lunch....then had her photo-op

She moved onto Belle....who got to hear all about her favorite nummies....
then she got her photo-op

Then onto Princess Aurora (that is Sleeping Beauty to the rest of you)...who was entranced by Maura's love of pink and ability to talk about it for hours.

But this was only the beginning....the best of the day was Maura's fairest and most favorite princess of them all......none other than....appearing in her famous Grotto....wearing a couple of seashells and a tail.....ARIEL

(PS Grandma thinks that Ariel is dressed kind of "slutty"....
she is a mermaid, mom--give her a break)

Florida Bound

Only a week after our fall family getaway and our trip to Michiana it was Halloween...so Chuck, Maura and I were on our way to Florida for a conference.

Our hotel was adjacent to the Disneyworld Boardwalk and we headed there on Halloween night. It was a party open to everyone.

Maura dressed as Ariel mixed with Tinkerbell and an Obama button thrown in. She was ecstatic.

We walked downtown and trick-or-treated the entire way.

Chuck and I got to eat all the chocolate (and there was a lot!)

We met up with Chuck's friend from high school, Dan, and his family. Maura suddenly was taken in by 3 older girls who completely adored her...the BEST Halloween ever!

Michiana-bound

Karen and Steve treated us to a lovely little get-away at their cabin in Michiana, IndianaWe hiked to the beach all 3 days.....Maura leading the charge

Maura built beachside condos and sculptures and sand creations galore
And Sam did his part in rearranging the beachThen we headed out to a pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkins....
Maura's only rule was that she could only take a pumpkin that she could lift herself.
